Why This?

Whatever you buy, you are buying a story.  Whatever you sell, you are selling a story.  Whatever business you are in, you are in the business of story. A story of you, it goes without saying.

Adventures in Aversion, I almost named this site.

Every week I take this dare: Enter into the mind most unlike mine, and look back at myself from there.

As Seth Godin does every day, with sellers and buyers, marketers and markets.

As Malcolm Gladwell does.

As every best economist and marketer does now, while stepping through the wreckage of former certainties, and finding there the crooked timber of humanity, from which no straight thing was ever made.

Let’s hold the crooked timbers to our eye, one by one, and sight along them, back at ourselves….

As Tolstoy did with the despicable whore Anna Karenina, draft after draft, coming to love her over the  years; loving in a way that awoke the impossible best in himself.
